Hospital on-call schedules are still built manually in most services. The result: part-time doctors shoulder the same number of shifts as full-timers, swaps are negotiated by SMS for hours, and Belgian labor law violations (24h max, 11h rest, 48h/week) go undetected until a conflict arises.
GardEquity automatically generates fair schedules using an OR-Tools algorithm that weights each shift by FTE employment rate. A 0.5 FTE doctor gets exactly half the shifts of a 1.0 FTE. Swaps are validated via WhatsApp in 1 click, 3-person domino chains are handled automatically, and the engine rejects any schedule that would violate Belgian labor legislation.
